Butte City is on a boil order until a clean coliform test comes back. Mountain West will be out tomorrow to take a sample. We will update as soon as we have the test results.

Do Not Drink Order Lifted
The city water sample came back clean. Tap water is ok to drink.

UPDATE 3/30/23: Water sample clear. Advisory no longer in effect.
Butte City is under a do-not-drink advisory until we receive a clean sample back.
Water Shutoff 3/25/23
Well #1 has stopped producing water. At 10:00am the city water tank was at 2.25 ft.
Well #2 is going to be turned on, and the remaining tank water will be flushed until clear water is flowing.
The tank will be refilled and we will have water back to residents this evening.
Water coming from the tap will be considered non-potable until a sample can be submitted early next week.

Well #1 Repair – 7/30/22
Well #1’s pump fins failed again by shearing at the spindle.
The pre-built pump was replaced with a custom-buld 9 stage cast iron pump.

Well #1 has stopped producing water. The new pump and motor are still operating, but there is no flow.
Brian Cushman is coming out to pull the well on a warranty repair, and set the pump lower if needed.

The Butte City water tank is not re-filling at 100% capacity. Please use water sparingly while the issues are resolved.
